A small word used in many sentences- sentences to get you out of trouble or to show you care. A word to explain past .. " I was not a whore.. I was just curious" ha!
After the interview with Christian Grey, Ana was " curious" .. very curious indeed. Her description describes him.
He's tall , dressed in a fine gray suit, white shirt, and a black tie with unruly dark copper colored hair and intense, bright gray eyes that regard me shewdly.
They have an instant connection- I wondered as I read " Love at first site?" How? " Love at her first?" Ana even leaves the building with her heart pumping our of her chest ...scrambling to to reach the doors.
No man has ever affected me the way Christian Grey has, and I cannot fathom why.
It is a crazy position to be in- One look... one word.. touch.. and you are mesmerized " hooked". It is a feeling that sticks with you- you always remember that first look that feels like an eternity- but in reality it is what...3 seconds. Have you ever had that? explain...
As I continued I get confused with Ana- I try to see how one interview can make her this intense over a stranger. The book annoyingly explains how all over the place she is and besides herself with the beauty she just encountered. I want to scream " get it together girl" it was just an interview- he didn't take you on the desk as I presumed he would!! Now that could be a reason to be flustered!! I didn't realize until reading more that moment they met was much .. much more.
Going forward you start to get a real picture of Ana and her roommate Kate- she is actually dreading going home and speaking with her about the interview knowing very well Kate is going to drill her about it. In my opinion Ana comes across as a bitchy friend.
Oh no- here we go , the Katherine Kavanagh Inquisition
Did she not think she would quiz her about the most important piece of journalism in her career? Sentence after I sentence I read it is as if Ana is blasting Kate- you want to take her defense. Um, this is what reporters do! Ana fesses up about Christian but only in a small sense of the interview ... not how she is really feeling. Kate apologizes for basically throwing her in the lions den
.Jeez, Ana, I'm sorry. I should have briefed you, but I was such a panic.
Panic and Kate Kavanagh don't rarely mix. Their relationship reminds me of one I have- funny the only name different in that one is " Ana" - " Erin and Kate" instead... oh dear.. but which one is Ana? So similar to both .. I laugh at thought!Until next time.. " laters" Erin x
This is a blog about the " 50 Shades" series- my personal thoughts, experiences, and over all fun. I hope people follow and we can open discussions up all over the world!

Not jumping the gun .. but i'm annoyed
I'm half way through second book and I find myself annoyed... the trouble part is I don't know why! And I feel a little ashamed of myself for feeling this way- very unsettling .. Don't worry I am not getting a head of myself here. I said I would start at the beginning. I just had to share. We will come back to this when we get to it..

Takes a bit...
Now if you can't tell from now- this blog is based around E.
L. James Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades
Freed- I am going to start with “Grey" and move forward. If you haven't
read the book yet… you might not want to read and come back later. I will be
taking excerpts from the books, posting songs from the books, and my own
thoughts and photos about things to come. Now if you have no interest in the books and
you just want to know about me…follow me… and my brain- well that is very “stalker”
like of you and flattering at the same time.
I am making this open to speak your mind and to answer my questions- so
let’s begin…
Chapter one- I didn’t know what to expect when I first
opened the cover of this book. I have heard rumors of it being controversial-the
SNL skit http://www.celebritypop.com/2012/05/06/video-watch-the-snl-fifty-shades-of-grey-skit/
(hysterical if you didn’t see it). How young adults shouldn’t be reading this “porn”
and immediately I formed my opinion and couldn’t wait to jump right in. They
start off explaining the character of Anastasia Steele- shy awkward innocent
young girl- who doesn’t know she is beautiful. Graduating collage and embarking on the world-
the description the writer uses in great detail. “Ana” is mad that her roommate Katherine Kavanagh,
she is sick and is making her cover her scoop to interview billionaire
Christian Grey for the last article for the collage newspaper. She doesn’t even
work for the paper- but she is helping out her friend. Katherine is described as
the opposite of Ana- very dedicated , super aggressive , gorgeous and always
knowing how to get what she wants( my kind of gal)-
I don’t know about
anyone else but from the minute I read the first paragraph I thought Ana as “whiny” ? Thoughts….
I scowl with
frustration at myself in the mirror. Damn my hair – it just won’t behave, and
damn Katherine Kavanagh for being ill and subjecting me to this ordeal. I
should be studying for my final exams, which are next week, yet here I am
trying to brush my hair into submission. I must not sleep with it wet. I must
not sleep with it wet. Reciting this mantra several times, I attempt, once
more, to bring it under control with the brush.
Enough with the hair… we all have bad hair days- I can see
her basically ripping out her hair with each wisp of the brush- OK.. Sooo I’ve
been there before not wanting to do something for a friend even though I do anyway! Moving on…As she whines a little more she is
leaving to drive into Seattle to interview Christine Grey – CEO @ Grey Enterprises
Holdings/ Self-made billionaire . Now Ana doesn’t really know too much about
him – and he is nothing what she expected upon meeting. Young,
handsome, intelligent, business-savvy, and charming, he at first glance appears
to be a suave but upon talking to him he is a dick actually.
“Business is all about
people, Miss Steele, and I’m very good at judging people. I know how they tick,
what makes them flourish, what doesn’t, what inspires them, and how to
incentivize them. I employ an exceptional team, and I reward them well.” He
pauses and fixes me with his gray stare.
Just seems a bit much upon arrival. And I will say the
clumsy girl fall into the office was a little much for me. A little “Bella Swan” like if I may. I almost
stopped reading that this point- I was expecting SEX thrown in my face! My opinions
formed remember- reading the boring interview portion I was trying not to...But
my eyes skipping a few lines down waiting to read how he swept her up and had
her right there on the desk!! As we know, that didn’t happen. Ana’s roommate Kate a list of questions that
I thought a little inappropriate- HELLO!? He is this huge donor to your school…and
you ask if he is Gay? The writer makes you feel Ana’s embarrassment – but at
the same token – she isn’t Ron Burgundy who has to read everything off the teleprompter! Just saying…The tension or electrical spark
between them is awesome. Described annoyingly to the point as you read your
jealous- or make you think back to when you have ever experienced that before or currently-
Christine with his blazing eyes…Ana
biting her lip-
Why does he have such
an unnerving effect on me? His overwhelming good-looks maybe? The way his eyes
blaze at me? The way he strokes his index finger against his lower lip? I wish
he’d stop doing that.
Let’s stop and discuss a few moments here- have you ever met
somewhere that was just too pretty to describe? You just melt at the slightest
smile? I’ve had a few of these moments myself.
I was on a beach – 12 maybe… and this guy was running. He was a lot
older than me but just his thick strong legs flexing… chest so sleek ..sweat dripping ...and
strong..my heavens ...his face and body of a Greek God!!! And
even though the smile he gave me was kind – at the time I thought I was in love…ha-ha! That was possibly the first time how much I
realized I was going to be quite the “curious” teenager. Yes “ Curious”( good word - for now) we will stop there…
The Beginning...
So I've been going and back and forth on starting this blog about the
successful trilogy known as " 50 Shades of Grey" about my feelings on
the book, my own close encounters, how other people feel and their own special
"arrangements" they might have, had, or willing to part take. As much
as I would like to keep it PG 13-let me warn you, there are going to be
times when swearing is involved- uncomfortable topics. Juicy topics... Sexual
content and over all fun!
This book took me by surprise. I haven't had a book captivate me so much since the “Flowers in the attic" series by V C Andrews. I haven' read it in a long time but still I remember shuttering in my bedroom wondering if the Grandmother was coming up the stairs.. The powder sugar cookies... Blushing by the romantic words from Chris and then feeling awful to realize they were related! It had me envision ballerinas... Naughty sleep overs... incest... cruelty...Survival... Freedom and most of all …love as the series continued. Simply put … it was amazing.
I have been hearing about 50 Shades all over the place. My girlfriends, co- workers, internet, TV …hell you name it, it’s everywhere!! So when my friend Tracy said she had the books, I said bring it over... I will give it a whirl. You see, I don’t read often, I never seem to find anything that “peaks” my interest enough. When I was younger I was into horror books, Stephen King mostly- and then I just started watching movies. I stopped reading and always had to hear “how much better the book was” – I didn’t care. I was more of a visual kind of lass. HA! And would stick my nose in the air at the “bookie types” – how boring! Well… until recently.
I’m not going to give away much in this first entry- this is my introduction-giving a little of me to you-and what to expect-also be reassured, I will always post “SPOILER ALERTS” if you haven’t gotten as far in the book. I hope you follow along and please comment. I am already into "50 Shades Darker" But we will start at the beginning.. It will keep my mind racing- I look forward to our time together...
